SOW
STATEMENT OF WORK
FOR
Manufacture of Explosive Bolt Arresting Cable Release Mechanism
1.0 INTRODUCTION
This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the requirements, responsibilities, deliverables, and delivery dates for the manufacture of the Explosive Bolt for the Arresting Cable Release Mechanism (ACRM).
1.1 Background
The M58A4 (M913) Linear Demolition Charge (LDC), in conjunction with the MK22 MOD 4 (J143) rocket motor (RM), and M1134A4 Fuze (ML82) make up the MK2 Mine Clearance System (MCS). The M58 is a rocket propelled LDC, designed to provide a clear path for combat vehicles during minefield and barrier breaching operations. Two MK2 MCSs can be loaded onto and fired from the Assault Breaching Vehicle (ABV).
The MK2 MCS system currently requires the operator to manually detach the arresting cable from the M58 container following deployment and detonation of the LDC. The need exists for a system which can be retrofitted to the existing MCS inventory, which will add the capability to remotely and automatically release the arresting cable and allow it to be propelled free of the vehicle.
1.2 Scope
This Statement of Work (SOW) defines the requirements, responsibilities, and deliverables for the Explosive Bolt for the ACRM.
The Contractor shall fabricate, test, inspect and deliver Explosive Bolts in accordance with the requirements of this SOW.
2.0 APPLICABLE DOCUMENTS
The following Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technology Division (NSWC IHEODTD) technical documents form a part of this SOW to the extent specified herein and are hereafter collectively referred to as the Technical Data Package
(TDP).
