About this file
This document is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the Automate Your Boat (AYB) solution, intended to support projects in the Remote Sensing Division (RSD). The AYB system is designed to enhance the navigation, route planning, and failsafe control capabilities of the ACCESS autonomous surface vessel, which is critical for surveying and research in mid-to-shallow near-coastal water systems of interest to the Navy and Marine Corps.
The associated federal contract opportunity is a Total Small Business Set-Aside solicitation (N0017325Q5634) issued by the Naval Research Laboratory for procurement of a new multi-hull research vessel. The solicitation requires vendors to provide brand name or equal equipment, with strict requirements that all items be new, from Original Equipment Manufacturers or authorized dealers, and include manufacturer warranties. The procurement follows FAR streamlined procedures for commercial items, with a NAICS code of 541519 and a size standard of $34 million. The solicitation seeks to acquire the Automate Your Boat multi-hull research vessel with specific technical specifications, emphasizing new equipment and comprehensive OEM service and licensing terms.

Text version
Statement of Work Automate Your Boat (AYB) solution will be used in support of many projects in the Remote Sensing Division (RSD), with both base program and external sponsorship. The ACCESS autonomous surface vessel, separately procured by the RSD, combined with the AYB system represents a significant investment in autonomous surveying, research, and analysis capabilities for mid-to-shallow near-coastal water systems of interest to the Navy and Marine Corps. The existing navigation solution of the ACCESS system does not meet mission requirements and thus the entire instrument payload cannot be effectively utilized. The AYB system represents a proven navigation, route planning, and failsafe control system which is compatible with our existing vessel, and requires minimal integration costs.
