SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS-

POLARIS & VESPER DIGITAL TUNERS

Four-channel digital tuner specifications:

· Packaging: > 40 cubic inches

· Minimum operating temperature: 25 degrees Celsius (+/- 5 degrees C)

· Operational relative non-condensing humidity of 0-95%.

· Minimum channels: 4 user-selectable as independent or phase coherent

· Minimum bandwidth: 3dB of 85MHz

· Each channel bandwidth must be capable of being reduced either by analog or digital fashion

· Tuning range of each channel must be 2-6200 MHz (independently or coherently tuned)

· Tuner output must be VITA 49-encoded IF data

· Streamed to at least 2 SFP+ transceiver outputs

· Each must be capable of providing a 10Gbps Ethernet interface

· Time-stamping of digitized IF data is required, should be provided via GPS antenna, 1 PPS, or an IRIG-B123 source

· Must accept an external 10MHz reference signal

· Maximum Noise Figure must be 8dB across its tuning band

· Maximum spur free dynamic range must be -70dBFS

· Must function with the existing RDA digital recorder and MONARCH digital recording system.

Eight-channel digital tuner specifications:

· Maximum ambient operating temperature of 65 degrees Celsius

· Operational relative non-condensing humidity of 0-95%

· Minimum channels: 8 user-selectable and independently tuned channels

· Bandwidth per channel: 100MHz

· Minimum tuning range: 2 – 6200 MHz

· independently tuned

· Tuner output: VITA 49-encoded IF data

· Steamed to at least 2 SFP+ transceiver outputs

· Each must be capable of providing a minimum of 1Gbps Ethernet interface

· Time-stamping of digitized IF data is required, should be provided via 1PPS.

· Must accept an external 10MHz reference signal

· Maximum Noise Figure must be 15 dB across its tuning band

· Maximum single-tone spur free dynamic range, inside post-selector bandwidth, of -50dBc or -80dBc, whichever is greater at -1dBFS

· Must function with the existing 3dB Labs MONARCH digital recording system.
