About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a potential naval contract opportunity related to weapons effects analysis. The Q&A addresses two specific clarification points: 1) Confirming that the contract does not require designing live fire tests, but rather using software tools to aid in pre-shot predictions and potentially requiring software enhancements, and 2) Clarifying that "testing strategies" in Section 4.1 includes software testing and supports the development of Modeling & Simulation (M&S) plans. The document provides direct, concise responses to vendor inquiries about the scope and technical requirements of the anticipated contract, helping potential bidders understand the precise nature of the work being solicited.

Question Answer
Section 2.0, item 1, states “aid in the selection of live fire events”: does this include the design of live fire tests?
The task does not include the request to design live fire tests, the objective outlines that software tools will be used to aid in the decisions of live fire events (i.e. pre shot predictions). From a software development side, new technologies may require software enhancement to support/aid in this effort.
2 Section 4.1 states “testing strategies”: does that include software testing?
The breadth of 4.1 includes description of software testing. The words "testing strategies" aligns to supporting the development of M&S plans.
