About this file

This document is a Minimum Specifications file for the procurement of PTFE insulated wire by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Carderock Division (NSWCCD). The procurement requires 400,000 feet of 22 AWG solid silver-plated copper conductor wire with PTFE insulation, compliant with MIL-W-16878/4 Type E specifications. The wire is needed to support hydrostatic testing of a confirmation model program for surface ship and submarine structures, specifically for collecting strain measurement data and conducting structural evaluations.

The solicitation (N0016725Q1082) specifies detailed technical requirements including wire characteristics such as 0.010" wall thickness, 600V rating, and an outer diameter between 0.045" and 0.063". Preferred wire colors are white, red, blue, and green, with a minimum of 5,000 feet per roll. Delivery requirements mandate that the contractor deliver the total wire quantity within 30 days of contract award, with a required delivery date no later than 16 weeks after contract award. The delivery destination is NSWC Carderock Division in Bethesda, Maryland, with material to be delivered FOB Destination and offloaded at Building 19's loading dock.
