About this file
This document is a set of questions and answers related to a federal contract opportunity for waterjet cutting services.
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for waterjet cutting services. The contract will be awarded on a small business set-aside basis to the responsible vendor that submits the Lowest-Priced, Technically Acceptable (LPTA) quote. The NAICS code is 339999 and the business size is 550 employees. All questions regarding the solicitation must be submitted by August 13, 2024 at 11:59 PM, and quote packages are due by August 19, 2024 at 11:59 AM. The government has clarified that flat bed cutting would be sufficient, but vendors can propose alternative methods if appropriate for the vertical member of the tee weldment.

Question:
Are the waterjetting services required to be carried out on a flat bed environment or a more complex cutting opportunity?
Answer:
Flat bed cutting would be sufficient. The tee weldment has a vertical member which should be taken into account as well. If a vendor believes another method is more appropriate they could propose that instead.
