QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
1. What material grade are these testing blanks supposed to be?
Ti-6Al-4V, 316L, and Inconel 625
2. If awarded, is the contractor responsible for Fracture Toughness testing?
No, the contractor is solely responsible for providing the test coupon blanks to NSWCCD along with the report detailing the manufacturing parameters specified in the PWS
3. I have a question pertaining to 3.2 Process Details Report (CDRL A001) where it states the Contractor shall report the manufacturing parameters listed in the table below.
Powder material: Chemistry, size distribution and percent fines, morphology, shear testing, flowability, density. We have never been asked for shear testing. Example material cert attached will this be ok and compliant?
Generally, a material cert. is fine for this requirement
4. Is this solicitation for the testing & reporting of Fracture Toughness Specimens?
This is solely for production of the test specimen blanks. The vendor is not expected to perform any fracture toughness testing
