Text version

The Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) has a requirement for Ward Leonard Motor Repair. The NAICS code is 811310 and the Product/Service Code is H949.

The proposed purchase order is being solicited on a sole-source basis to Ward Leonard. The proposed action is for motor repair services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(a)(2)(ii). The basis for restricting competition is for the following reason: Ward Leonard is the proprietary owner of repair services of their motors. The NSWCCD intends to award a firm fixed-price purchase order to Ward Leonard using Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

Interested parties may identify their interest to this requirement by submitting a capabilities statement no later than March 28, 2022. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals. However, all responses received by March 28, 2022 at 12:00 PM EST will be considered by the Government. Any questions must be received via e-mail by March 25, 2022 at 2:00 PM EST. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.

Inquiries should be directed to Steven Besanko at steven.besanko@navy.mil.

3.4 The contractor shall report to the Government SME any corrosion requiring repair that is outside the scope of this contract before any corrosion repair is done. For the corrosion that is of similar scope as found on the previously repaired motor the contractor shall use similar means to repair the effects of the corrosion. Further the contractor shall take similar steps to provide protection against future corrosion. (CDRL A002)

3.5 The contractor shall package and ship the motor back to NSWCCD’s West Bethesda site.

4.0 SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

4.1 The contractor must have the capability to disassemble, refurbish, reassemble, and test the motor provided by NSWCCD.

4.2 The contractor must have the capability to test the motor under load conditions of 1600 ft-lbs, if necessary.

4.3 The contractor shall be responsible for creating the motor in responsible and safe way to ensure it is not damaged during shipment back to NSWCCD.
