ADDITIONAL INFORMATION VIA ANSWERS TO QUESTIONS
N0016718Q0061
Additional information we would need to know is how far apart are the other locations that will need to be accessed by boat?
A) The first location is the Yellow Barge which is approximately 1 mile by boat figure around 15-20 minutes from base. Next location is Deep Moor #1 which is approximately 5 miles by boat figure around 25-30 minutes from base. The next location is the Wigwam which is approximately 5 miles by boat figure around 25-30 minutes from base. The next location is Deep Moor #2 which is approximately 7 miles by boat figure around 30-40 minutes from base. The next location is the OUTPOST which is approximately 9 miles by boat figure around 40-50 minutes from base. The final location is the ESP Barge which is approximately 9 miles by boat figure around 40-50 minutes from base.
What type of structures are these locations?
A) The Yellow Barge, Deep Moor #1 and #2, and the ESP are all moored barges. The Wigwam and the
OUTPOST are building on land.
Could we get the number of locations and the max distance apart they are? For example, are there 20 additional locations five miles apart up river, estimate of how many can be serviced in a given day?
A) See that answer to question 1.
Each of these locations also have existing equipment that needs to be removed prior to install in each?
A) Yes, these areas all have existing radios that will be removed to install the new ones.
With regard to the subject solicitation, could you tell me where the 25 boats will be located in relation to the ARD buildings?
A) All of the boats will be located at the main dock at the base. The vendors will be able to walk down to the boats. The docks are about 500 feet long.
How far apart will the boats be?
A) Around 40 feet.
How far from the boats and buildings will the "several other locations" be that need radios installed? How long will it take for a technician to get to each boat, barge, building and the other locations?
A) Max distance is around 2000 feet figure on about a 10- minute walk or faster by vehicle. There is road access to within 500 feet of all the facilities located on base.
I am trying to get a picture and an idea of how many radios can be installed in a given day by one technician and can one technician complete this task within 30 days.
A) I would estimate one guy could remove and install the radios in two boats per day. Figure a little more time for the buildings. Something like two buildings in 3 days. However, I need to minimize our down time so I want enough guys to complete the removal and installation within a week or 10 days.
Task 4.3 specifics four 12V batteries for the GTR-8000. The GTR-8000 requires 48VDC Input or AC. Please confirm if providing compatible 48V batteries instead is acceptable.
A) Yes they could use 48 VDC batteries, but I'm not sure they exist. We need to end up with 48VDC and
~30 amp hours. This would equate to four 12 VDC 30-amp hour batteries wired in series.
The Un-interruptible Power Supply (UPS) backup power is specified for a rating of (3) Days. Typical commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) UPS batteries specified in Task 4.3 (four Batteries) will provide run time of roughly 10 hours depending on duty-cycle usage for a GTR-8000 configured with Power Efficiency Package. A UPS sized for 3 days would require a much more robust solution than called out in the material requirements. A modular full size UPS
Tower (i.e. 9-18kVA) that would require additional physical space for installation & hardwired into a 208/240V power source. Please confirm if providing a typical COTS UPS (120v Input) 4 battery expansion is sufficient.
Otherwise confirm is 208/240V power source is available, additional physical space for a full sized UPS Tower installation and input breaker ratings are needed.
A) We need to end up with 48VDC and ~30 amp hours. This would equate to four 12 VDC 30-amp hour batteries wired in series. We would need the appropriate battery charging control system. We don't need the higher end UPS tower (i.e. 9-18kVA) that the vendor is talking about. We have 480 volt, 240 volt, and 110-volt power available at the location that the UPS will be installed.
