SF30 CONTINUATION BLOCK 14, DESCRIPTION OF AMENDMENT/MODIFICATION
The possible failure mode for 501-K34 engine serial number ASP-1305 is sand intake. A cursory Government inspection revealed the following information:
1. Non air cooled parts should be unaffected.
2. The compressor should be unaffected.
3. Any air cooled parts needs to be inspected for possible sand contamination.
4. SWRMC reported that sand was found in the inner exhaust cylinder and turbine exhaust inner body.
5. Remnants of sand were discovered in the tie bolt.
6. SWRMC clocked the compressor but could not reduce the vibration levels.
