5 Detail description of 4160V recepticles and mounds

The ship does not have receptacles for shore power. Shore power is brought on board by connecting two appropriately sized and rated cable lugs on the ship end between the source on the pier and bus bar in the shore power connection box in either mooring station 7 or mooring station 8. Details of the cable mounds on the piers are up to the shipyard. Pictures will be available upon release of the formal RFP to DOD Contractors only.

Draft RFP mentions composite manual attachment J-16. Needs to include installation/lay-up procedures, critical/flaw requirements, training requirements, inspection requirements

The DDG 1000/1001 Composite Manual will be released as an attachment to the final RFP. The Composite Manual includes installation/lay-up procedures, critical/flaw, training and inspection requirements.

7 Carbon fiber is typically LLTM needing to schedule a production fund with Torray (manufacturer)

Production fund will be established with Torray (manufacturing) as Government Furnished Material (GFM) and delivered to the execution yard.

8 Sponsons design interface with composite structure Sponsons design interface to the composite structure is shown on the 4E Work Specification Number 441-11-010. The 4E Work Specification will be available upon release of the formal RFP

9 Draft RFP identifies a need for 4000 Amps of 4160V. In Industry Day it identified need for 800 Amps of 4160V. Please clarify.

Shore power required is 3 Phase, 4160 Volts, 800 Amps.

10 Unsure about relationship between MSA Contractor / Execution Yard and Planning Yard

The Execution Yard will be the PRIMARY integration agent and will be responsible for development and execution of the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). The Government expectation is that the Execution Yard will actively coordinate with the Prime MSA Contractor to ensure that production efforts are sequenced in such a way as to make the test and activation period as efficient and short as possible. It will be the Execution Yard's responsibility to promulgate format and detail requirements across all entities regarding IMS inputs, to schedule and manage routine meetings to ensure that the IMS is accurate and up-to-date with any production or test changes, and to work directly with all other organizations and activities to deconflict schedules as required.

The Government has not yet established a Planning Yard for the DDG 1000 Class outside of the current build yard. Design and engineering requirements will be evaluated individually, with the intent to assign these actions to the Execution Yard. As required, the Government will engage the Building Yard where it is believed they would be better suited to accomplish a given task.

11 Expectation that execution yard will provide some level of planning yard like engineering services

12 Assumption that contract will allow all AITs and contractors allowed full access, some production limitations

The assumption is all AITs and contractors will have access to areas of the ship that contain their specific equipment and/or system. There will be some production limitations for the AITs and contractors, such as welding, grinding, cutting, etc. Please refer to 252.217-7011 in the final RFP.
