About this file
This document package includes a Department of Defense Contract Security Classification Specification (DD 254) and information about a related upcoming federal contract opportunity.
The DD 254 specifies security requirements for a contract to develop the AN/WSN-12 Inertial Navigation System for the U.S. Navy. It requires contractor personnel to have appropriate facility and personnel security clearances and outlines handling requirements for classified and controlled unclassified information. The contractor will need access to confidential and secret information, and will be subject to derivative classification training and public release review requirements. Additional guidance is provided in the document's security classification guide references.
The federal contract opportunity notice indicates the Naval Sea Systems Command intends to issue a competitive solicitation for AN/WSN-12 Inertial Navigation System requirements. It provides a high-level description of the system and invites industry to review and provide feedback on draft solicitation sections by July 22, 2020. Interested firms can also request a copy of the technical data package and should monitor the beta.sam website for information on an upcoming industry day. The notice clarifies this is not a formal solicitation and the government is under no obligation to award any contracts.
