About this file

This is an Industry Day briefing presentation for Naval Air Systems Command's Aircraft Program Management Office (Air PMO) regarding market research for Group 1 and Group 2 Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) training, mission planning, mission rehearsal, simulation, and qualification management systems.

The Air PMO is conducting FAR Part 10 market research to understand commercially available and emerging capabilities that support Navy and Marine Corps small UAS training and readiness objectives. This Industry Day is explicitly not a Request for Proposal, Request for Information, or solicitation, and participation is voluntary with no Government reimbursement for costs. The Government has identified six primary capability areas of interest: Training and Qualification Management (qualification training, automated grading, training records, after-action review/debrief); UAS Simulation and Flight Fidelity (aircraft-specific flight models, environmental effects, emergency procedures, instructor-injected failures); Mission Planning and Mission Rehearsal (route planning, terrain analysis, operationally representative rehearsal); Terrain and Synthetic Environment (global terrain databases, satellite imagery, urban/maritime environments, line-of-sight terrain modeling); Instructor and Evaluation Capability (Instructor Operator Station, scenario creation, student monitoring); and Hardware and System Integration (controller integration, GCS integration, multi-aircraft support). Air PMO anticipates releasing a Request for Information in late Fiscal Year 2026 to early Fiscal Year 2027 requesting white papers on commercially available and emerging capabilities, with potential technical demonstrations scheduled for mid-Fiscal Year 2027. Questions may be submitted through the Question Submission Form until September 17, 2026, directed to fosuas_industry_day@us.navy.mil. Participation or non-participation in this Industry Day will not affect a company's ability to participate in future market research efforts, technical demonstrations, solicitations, or competitive acquisitions.
