Questions and Answers for RFQ N0001923R0653 Transportation of One (1) P-8 Aircraft Engines
1. Does it come with a tarp or do I need to provide one? I believe I saw somewhere stating it has a tarp but rope was required to hold it down.
The contractor will have to provide a tarp and securing devices as identified in the RFQ. The engine comes with a cover, but the tarp protects the engine cover from environmental hazards. Boeing will monitor during the chain and tarp as identified in the RFQ.
2. Is $34k the price of the engine or the starting negotiation price?
As provided in the RFQ, “The engine has an estimated replacement cost of $18 million.”
The RFQ also states, “A small business concern for the purposes of this procurement, under this NAICS code, is defined by the U.S Small Business Administration as a business, including its affiliates, averaging no more than $34 million in annual receipts.”
3. Can you provide the dimensions and weight of the cargo?
This information is provided in the requirements section of Amendment 0001 of the RFQ.
4. Can a conestoga flatbed trailer be used for transport? It has a pull-back curtain system for a tarp.
Yes, as long as it meets the requirements of the RFQ.
