About this file

This document is a Special Notice for an upcoming classified (SECRET) Industry Day hosted by the Office of Naval Research (ONR) regarding the UnderSea Advantage Block Upgrade (USABU) Future Naval Capability (FNC) program.

The purpose of the Industry Day is to describe the technical challenges of this S&T effort, which aims to improve sonobuoy capability by developing two products: (1) a volumetric active sonar receive array, and (2) a broadband sonobuoy source. Minimum qualifications for participation include holding an active Facility Clearance for classified information up to SECRET, demonstrating expertise in sonobuoy systems design and prototyping, and having technically qualified individuals capable of innovative 'A'-size sonobuoy designs and prototypes. Industry members interested in attending must submit a two-page request establishing their qualifications by May 6, 2024, and coordinate a Visit Access Request through their Visitor Security Officer. No more than three attendees per organization will be permitted, and media is not authorized. Following the event, SECRET-level documents may be provided to attendees via SIPRNet.
