About this file

This is a statement of requirements for a mobile single-point refueling system designed for the United States Air Force Special Operations Command (USAF/AFSOC). The system must fit within a Polaris MRZR vehicle—with the main pump and support items constrained to 48.5 inches wide by 36.0 inches long by 35.0 inches high in the cargo bed, and additional equipment limited to 48.5 inches wide by 23.0 inches long by 36.0 inches high in the rear seat area. The system must operate in austere land environments across a temperature range of -30°F to 120°F and transfer JP8, JETA, and JETA1 aviation fuel from a 5,000-gallon collapsible bladder at a discharge rate of 200 to 250 gallons per minute.

The pump must be powered by an internal combustion, multi-fuel engine with electric start and manual backup capability, weigh no more than 500 pounds with handles suitable for four-person carry, and comply with military specifications. Required features include 2.0-inch camlock hose connections, a 50.0 PSI nozzle pressure limit, a 55.0 PSI pressure relief valve, a 30-foot emergency kill switch, test ports, an on-pump flow meter, and de-fueling capability. The system shall include two 50-foot collapsible hoses with camlock ends and D3 nozzles (Cla-Val 347GF with specified options including dry-break quick disconnect, strainer ball valve, grounding cable, and hose-end regulator), one 10-foot suction hose, and HEPCV compliance. Support deliverables include an operations manual, fuel testing kit, maintenance tools, maintenance parts, and one day of training for 10 personnel at either Cannon AFB or the contractor's facility.
