About this file
This is a technical specification document issued by the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) for LED light pole fixture installations at MoDOT facilities. The specification establishes requirements for Holophane Mongoose MGLEDM Series LED High Tilt luminaires or approved equivalents to be used in roadway and area lighting applications. The document does not specify quantities, response dates, due dates, site visits, bidder meetings, award dates, or contract terms, as it functions as a technical standard rather than a procurement solicitation. Instead, it defines comprehensive performance and construction requirements that must be met by any submitted luminaire products.
The specification requires luminaires to meet stringent technical standards including UL 1598 safety listing, operation in temperatures ranging from -40°C to 40°C, die-cast aluminum housing with passive heat sink design, IP66-rated LED light engines using Chip on Board technology with borosilicate glass lenses, and a minimum efficacy of 120 lumens per watt. Electrical components must include quick disconnect couplings, three-station terminal blocks, surge protection devices rated to 10kV/5kA, and LED drivers with a minimum 90% power factor. The specification mandates ten years of manufacturing experience in LED roadway luminaires, Design Lights Consortium qualification, U.S. manufacturing, CSA certification to U.S. and Canadian standards, and a minimum 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects. Detailed submittal requirements include completed forms, cutsheets, independent laboratory photometric testing reports with NVLAP accreditation or DOE CALiPER program verification, LM-80 and TM-21 reports, and IES photometric files demonstrating compliance with specified light levels and uniformity ratios.
