DEPARTMENT OF THE AIR FORCE

76th MAINTENANCE SUPPORT GROUP (76 CXSG)

TINKER AIR FORCE BASE, OKLAHOMA

Item Description

A25-022 KC46 Mobile Overhead Fall Protection

76 AMXG Request the purchase for two (2) Mobile Overhead Fall Protection Ladder System with the following specifications:

• Ladder shall be constructed from either aluminum or steel.

• The ladder system shall be freestanding such that it can stand up on its own.

• The ladder system shall be portable and able to be moved on a minimum of four (4) wheels.

• Ladder system shall have the ability to be transported manually and with the use of a tow bar and service vehicle.

• Shall be able to be towed up to speeds of 5mph

• Tow bar shall be attached to the ladder base.

o During non-transport, the tow bar shall be able to be stowed and secured so as not to hinder visibility, present a tripping hazard, or release accidentally, for all heights of the ladder.

o Tow bar shall have a lunette eye conforming to Military Specification /MS51336.

• There shall be visual level indicators on the system.

• Heavy-duty manual leveling jacks.

o Leveling jacks shall work by uplifting or lowering parts of the system body to ensure its level everywhere.

o Minimum of six leveling jacks on system.

• Ladder shall provide 100% fall protection for up to two users from the ground up for the duration of the work being performed.

o Fall protection shall support each user of up to 310 lbs.

o A fall arrest bar for a self-retracting lifeline shall be located above the steps on the system for accessing ladder.

o There shall be two fall arrest anchors above the platform, each rated for one user, on either side of the platform that will allow the user(s) to exit the platform onto the elevated working surface while still maintaining proper fall protection.

o Fall protection shall meet all the requirements set out by OSHA 1910.140.

o Anchors shall support a minimum working load of 5000 lbs.

o Anchors shall be capable of rotating out from platform.

o Anchors shall be capable of adjusting height above the platform.

• The ladder shall have an operation range of at least 15 to 23 feet.

o Shall have manual height adjustment via winch assembly.

• The platform and ladder shall be bolted together and connect to a fixed platform working surface.

o Platform shall have a minimum length of 4 feet.

o The working platform shall have a maximum length of 7 feet.

o Platform shall have a minimum width of 1.75 feet.

o Platform shall have a maximum width of 3 feet.

o The bottom of the platform shall have foam padding on the bottom.

o The platform shall be able to support a minimum of 310lbs.

• Platform shall have guardrails on the two long sides of the platform o Guardrails shall be collapsible.

o Guardrails shall be IAW OSHA standard 1926.502.

• The freestanding ladder system shall be painted to prevent corrosion degradation from being stored outside.

o Paint shall be any bright and visible color.

• The freestanding ladder system shall be fully assembled prior to delivery.

• Contractor shall be responsible for offloading equipment.

• Contractor shall provide Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manual.
