About Massachusetts Maritime Academy
Massachusetts Maritime Academy (the Academy) prepares cadets for leadership careers in engineering, transportation, business, environmental science, and other STEM-related fields, with a distinctive emphasis on the maritime industry and the disciplined leadership development that has defined the Academy since its founding.
Established in 1891, Massachusetts Maritime Academy is one of seven degree-granting maritime academies in the United States and one of nine state universities in the Massachusetts public higher education system.
At Massachusetts Maritime Academy - a public, four-year, co-educational institution

The Academy serves as an important educational and economic anchor in the South Coast region of Massachusetts.
Buzzards Bay, Massachusetts is located on the Cape Cod Canal, approximately 60 miles south of Boston. The Academy currently offers seven undergraduate majors and three graduate programs to approximately 1500 undergraduate cadets and approximately 100 graduate students.
