Statement of Work

FY22 MK 38 W3 Cable Procurement Delivery Order Number: TBD

Title: FY22 Mk 38 Shipalt Cables W3

1. Scope

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Indian Head Detachment, Picatinny (NSWC IHD/P), as the In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA), has been tasked to provide MK 38 MOD 2/3 25mm Machine Gun Systems (MGS) and the necessary Ship Alterations (SHIPALTs), aboard U. S. Navy ships. The MK 38 MOD 2/3 MGS is a stabilized, remotely controlled 25mm weapon system with an on-mount Electro-Optical fire control system. This SOW is to acquire bulk cable to be used in creating the W3 cable assemblies during shipboard installation of the MK 38 MOD 2/3.

2. Applicable Documents

a. W3, Cable Drawing Number 53711-8566411.

3. Order of Precedence

a. In the event of a conflict between the text of this document and the references cited herein, the text of this document takes precedence over all. Nothing in this document, however, supersedes applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has been obtained.

4. Requirements

a. The contractor shall deliver 32 spools of W3 Cable in accordance with drawing 53711-8566411.

5. Delivery or Performance

a. All deliveries shall be in accordance with Section F of the contract.

b. Early delivery is authorized.

6. Packaging, Marking and Shipping

a. In accordance with DFARS Clause 252.211-7003, Item Identification and Valuation, the Contractor is required to mark and register all end items and their components meeting the requirements called out in MIL-STD-130N.

These requirements and their application are controlled by the MK 38 MOD 2 and 3 Machine Gun System (MGS) (PEO IWS 3C) Item Unique Identification Implementation Plan Revision C.

b. Preservation & Packaging

i. Preservation & packaging of the items shall be in compliance with Best Commercial Practice.

ii. Size of labels is to be approximately 1” x 2 5/8” or equivalent marking/labeling method (contractor to determine). For items that do not have an NSN assigned, the NSN shall be left blank.
