About this file
This document is a Minimum Salient Characteristics (MSC) specification for Airsoft Rifles intended for continuous military training, issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command. The detailed requirements encompass comprehensive specifications for airsoft rifles, including strict construction, performance, maintenance, and logistics standards. Key technical requirements mandate a full-metal body and gearbox, operational charging handle, blowback system, and Picatinny/MLOK compatibility, with performance expectations of 20,000+ round durability, consistent muzzle velocity between 400-550 FPS, and effective training range from 25-100 yards.
The accompanying Sources Sought Notice indicates the 325th Contracting Squadron at Tyndall AFB, FL is conducting market research to identify qualified contractors capable of delivering these airsoft rifles. Interested vendors must provide detailed company information including CAGE code, SAM UEI number, business size, contact details, teaming partners, warranty standards, and country of origin/TAA compliance. The solicitation emphasizes that this is a planning-stage market research survey, does not constitute a commitment, and respondents will not be compensated for information submitted. The document sets strict evaluation criteria, with vendor disqualification possible for failure to meet any of the specified minimum salient characteristics.
