Stand clear of lift boom and load during lift cycle. Ensure test load is centered on manipulator head. Failure to comply may result in injury to personnel.

NOTE

Test weight fabrication material is optional, either Concrete, Cast Iron or Construction Steel. Due to the manufacturing tolerances of cast iron or damaged concrete test weights, it may be necessary to supplement the test weights. Use a locally fabricated steel plate, one per block, to achieve the required weight of 7000 pounds (+250/-0 pounds) The thickness of the steel plate may vary based on the amount of supplemental weight required. Steel plates will conform to the corrosion control standards of Technical Order (TO) 35-1-3 if they are subject to outdoor use/storage.

b. Place a 7,000 pound test load (+250/-0 pounds) weight on load table and secure.

d. With load still raised, shut unit off.

e. Simulate a hose failure by depressing the lift boom control lever (9) to the lower position. This will release pressure in the lines from the counterbalance valve back to the tank. The load should not drop. However, a slight settling may

f. Start unit and lower load.

g. Visually inspect for leaks and structural cracks.

h. After all operations or tests have been completed, remove weight and position the Lift Truck in the parking area assigned. Lower the lift boom. Place the directional control lever (6) in NEUTRAL. Place the parking brake valve lever in the ON position. Place ignition switch in the OFF position.

9.7 RCU Operation. Refer to Paragraph 5.11 and operate the lift boom and manipulator head using the RCU. Verify all functions of the RCU are operable. There shall be no noticeable delay between pressing the RCU switch and response to the selected function.

9.8 Drift Test for Uncommanded Movement.

Uncommanded movement could be experienced when accomplishing this test. Perform test in a clear area and ensure that all applicable safety precautions contained in AFOSH Standard 91-100 and AFOSH Standard 91-10 are observed while accomplishing this test. Failure to comply could result in injury to personnel and/or damage to equipment.

Locate lift truck in appropriate testing location. Ensure hydraulic tank is full and accomplish the following steps:
