Expand Existing Restrooms Bldg. 20204

1. General Project Information

1.1. Design/Build Purpose and Objective

1.1.1. The purpose and objective of this Design/Build (D/B) Statement of Work (SoW) identifies the requirements for completing the turnkey project titled “Expand Existing Restrooms Bldg. 20204” located on Kirtland Air Force Base (Kirtland AFB). The primary purpose and objective of this project is to renovate the existing men's and women's restrooms to expand the restroom capacity for the security forces training team which shall enhance the facilities and improve the overall functionality of the restrooms.

1.2. Existing Building and Site Conditions

1.2.1. Building 20204 at Kirtland AFB was constructed in 1948. The majority of the original plumbing components remain in use, with many surpassing their expected lifespan. Issues have arisen with the sewage, domestic, chilled, and hot water systems, necessitating additional maintenance to ensure their continued operation.

1.2.2. The western side of B20204 is currently occupied by the post office, while the remaining space is utilized as a training center and for other functions. Both the men's and women's restrooms serving the training center are equipped with a single water closet and sink. Additionally, the men's restroom includes a urinal.

However, during training sessions, the restroom facilities are inadequate to accommodate the number of individuals present. Therefore, there is a pressing need to expand and enhance the restroom capacity to better serve the needs of all occupants.

1.3. Attachments and Reference Documents

1.3.1. The following documents and attachments are applicable to this SoW to the extent specified herein. These documents are provided with this SoW to assist D/B team in completing the SoW requirements.
