About this file

This document is a Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP) Justification for Brand Name and/or Sole Source Acquisitions over $3,500 but not exceeding the Simplified Acquisition Threshold. It justifies the sole source acquisition of repair parts for a HAAS VF-5/40XT CNC machine from Phillips Federal Division, who has a contract with the government to supply all parts and services for HAAS CNC machine repair. The parts required are a spindle motor and a coolant union bearing assembly. The justification cites the unique compatibility of these parts with the existing HAAS machine, and the lack of availability from other sources due to the exclusive contract between HAAS and Phillips.

The related federal contract opportunity is a solicitation from the McAlester Army Ammunition Plant for Parts for HAAS VF-5 MIL, to be FOB Destination at the McAlester facility. The solicitation will be issued via SAM.gov and will close on 03/21/2024. Salient characteristics must be met, and vendors must be SAM registered and active to be considered. Questions must be submitted 72 hours prior to closing, and any changes will be posted to the website.
