A. Overview

This is an Invitation for Bid (IFB) issued by the Lexington Public Schools (LPS) to secure the provision of METCO Student Bus Transportation Services for 3 years with an option of two additional one-year contract extensions, commencing August 16, 2026 through August 15, 2029, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth in the Bid Terms and draft Contract below. The LPS requires regular school bus transportation to and from Lexington, MA and to and from Boston, MA as directed generally for each day that school is in session, late transportation from certain assigned schools as scheduled by the K-12 METCO Academic Director, in addition to special trips from time to time and a summer school program as directed by the K-12 METCO Academic Director.

Bidders are asked to read over the bid package thoroughly, even if they have prior contract experience with LPS. Bidders shall fully inform themselves of all contract conditions. By filing a bid proposal, the bidders do thereby represent, under the pains and penalties of perjury, that they have so informed themselves and that they understand that maintenance of a timely schedule for transporting students to and from the designated schools is an essential condition of this contract.
