About this file
This is a Medical Equipment Maintenance and Calibration specifications document for a Maine hospital facility. The contract requires the vendor to maintain a comprehensive database of hospital medical equipment inventory and perform semi-annual preventive maintenance, calibration verification, inspection, and testing of all equipment, with the first inspection required before April 26, 2013, and subsequent inspections every six months thereafter. The vendor must also provide incoming inspection of all new equipment within one week of receipt, perform corrective maintenance when available or coordinate with appropriate vendors when unavailable, and submit preventative and repair reports no later than one month after service completion. Additional service requirements include applying inspection stickers to devices with the date and inspector initials, providing hard copies of testing and maintenance procedures for each equipment type, attending hospital safety orientation, offering clinical engineering consultation, and notifying the hospital of any medical alerts or recall notices affecting inventoried equipment.
The specifications indicate that there are no additional costs associated with travel for the contracted services. The vendor must provide proof of licensure and maintain copies of all reports while submitting two copies to the hospital Director of Facilities. The document notes that an equipment listing is attached to assist vendors in preparing bid quotes, and that the hospital reserves the right to add or delete items from the inventory as needs change. No specific pricing information, set-asides, incumbent vendor details, contract term length, or renewal options are detailed in this specifications document.
