The SNS achieves this mission by operating and maintaining its Warehouse facilities at a high level of mission readiness by timely disposal of identified outdated or nonrequired medical material waste consisting of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
The Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) of the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR) requires medical material waste disposal services consisting of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and equipment.
The contract shall be a five-year Firm-Fixed Price (FFP) service contract to dispose of approximately 461.6 million pounds of nonhazardous and 12.3 million pounds of hazardous materials for pharmaceuticals and medical supplies.
The monthly disposals must be removed from each warehouse to ensure sufficient space will be available for newly procured other countermeasure medical supplies and equipment required to meet mission essential functions.
The contractor must have access to incinerators, landfills, or other processing facility resources to support the monthly disposal volume of the SNS. Based on historical and projected disposal volumes, each SNS warehouse location will have a disposal requirement and warehouse capacity of up to 10 (ten) tractor-trailer pickup's daily. Each truckload weight will range from 12,000 to 40,000 pending on type of material being disposed per pallet. The SNS disposal requirement is across the United States simultaneously each business day.
