Tele-Saw and Tele-Boom shall be Sheyenne Model 21 Tele-Saw and Tele-Boom Model T-200 attachment or equal for use on compact tracked loader. Tele-saw and boom system to trim trees along trails, maneuver corridors, firing points, and mortar points. This attachment will provide the ability to trim any tree limbs at multiple angles and at heights up to approximately 33 feet to provide clearance to large military vehicles and LRAM equipment to avoid damaging equipment while driving along maneuver trails. By trimming trees long maneuver trails will help to eliminate tree damage and broken limbs along the edges of maneuver trails, which in turn will help to minimize the spread of tree disease such as oak wilt which can kill large pockets of mature trees in one growing season.
Suggested Model/Brand or Equal: Sheyenne Tooling & Mfg. – Tele-saw Model 21 with Tele-Boom T-200 Model *Vendor must address each salient listed below and identify that they meet or exceed the requirement and/or explain why their alternate features are better than those outlined.
Purchase includes both a saw head system and an extendable boom that attaches to a compact tracked loader/skidsteer via a quick attachment plate.
Saw and Boom Specifications:
The saw head must be designed and manufactured to fit and operate on the extendable boom system.
The boom system must be designed and manufactured to operate with the saw head system.
Saw and extending boom must be hydraulically powered and be designed to operate on a standard compact loader/skidsteer type system New Holland C185 Tracked Loader.
Saw Head: For ease of storage and handling the saw head attachments must be of a manageable size for two personnel to handle/carry: weight should be less than 130 pounds and dimensions should be similar to overall Measurements of 9 inches x 18 inches x 62 inches.
Saw Head: Must have the ability to electronically or hydraulically rotate the saw blade/head – approx. 350 degrees or greater to ensure maximum flexibility in cutting limbs as various angles. This must be able to be done from the cab of the compact tracked loader/skidsteer.
Saw Head: The frame and housing must be constructed of high quality steel or similar durable materials.
Saw Head: Chain size must be .404 pitch or larger with chisel type teeth.
Saw Head: Bar Length must be between 20 and 24 inches to ensure the capability to cut larger limb/tree diameters, but not so large as to make it difficult to negotiate the bar/head into tree canopies/branches.
Saw Head: The saw blade/bar must extend/retract from a safety guard/cover and not be fully exposed when not in use.
Saw Head: Must extend out from the head /sheath to at least a 90 degree angle perpendicular to the head/sheath to ensure a full cut can be made on limbs/trees.
Saw Head: Must be a chainsaw style blade; a circular saw type blade system or similar will not be acceptable.
Saw Head: The chain must be able to be lubricated as it is operated.
Saw Head: Must be able to be operated at hydraulic rates as low as 14 gallons per minute.
Extendable Boom: The boom must be constructed of high quality steel for structural integrity and lifting requirements.
Extendable Boom: the extendable boom must be designed to attach to a standard compact tracked loader/skidsteer with a quick attach plate design or similar, to limit the need for bolting, fastening, or reconfiguring the boom or the skidsteer for quick and easy attachment and removal.
Extendable Boom: Must be constructed of heavy duty, durable steel, materials such as 3 inch by 3 inch square tubing; with wall/steel thickness of greater than or equal to ¼ inch thick.
Extendable Boom: Will retract/extend in a telescoping fashion, not a folding or other style, due to limited space within wooded environments.
Extendable Boom: The majority of the booms length will be extended/retracted by hydraulics or electronics and will not require manual extension/reconfigurations.
Boom system (without a saw head attachment) must be able to retract to approximately 6 to 10 feet in length for ease of handling and storage.
Boom system must be able to extend at least 20 feet (not including: saw head/or other attachments; or the height/arms of the compact loader/skidsteer).
The overall length of the combined saw head and the extendable boom shall be able to retract at least 14 feet or less and extended to at least 30 feet vertically when attached/used on a standard tracked loader/skidsteer New Holland C185 Tracked Loader.
Boom system weight (without the saw head attachment) should be less than 700 pounds.
Boom system must be able to be operated at hydraulic quantities as low as 4 gallons per minute at 600 PSI.
The combined systems must have easy to use hand and/or foot controls that can be placed within and operated from the tracked loader/skidsteer cab/seating area to adjust saw position, cutting angle, blade feed, extension of the boom, etc.
Costs of the system must include delivery to Fort McCoy, WI 54656.
The vendor must include the cost to provide 3 hours of instruction on the set up, operation and maintenance of the saw and boom system; on-site at Fort McCoy, WI.
Vendor must list all Warranty information associated with the system quote/bid.
