CONTINUATION PAGE………

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS TO REQUEST FOR QUOTE (RFQ) MCC-17-RFQ-0017

AFRICA’S PROMISE INTERNSHIP PROJECT

Format Questions: Please disregard any and all inferences to 4 hard copies and redacted copies. Only 1 electronic copy is required. Also, any of the word files shall be compatible with Word 2010 and the pricing section shall be in Excel format that is compatible with the latest Excel application.

Clarification: Under F.3 Deliverables please note:

The list of tasks are documentation/instructions that will be developed by the vendor which will allow each MCA to set up and successfully maintain an internship program. The contractor is not responsible for executing and maintaining the internship program.

1. Question: What is the expected time frame of the internship?

Answer: Per the RFQ “The initial goal of this procurement is to develop a general program that each MCA easily apply,” Thus this RFQ does not request the bidder to propose or be involved in maintaining or overseeing the internship program once the program is developed.

2. Question: Will the selected contractor have direct contact with each of the MCAs?

Answer: Along with the COR and Technical POC, the contractor shall be briefed and brainstorm with the MCAs on how best to successfully complete the tasking per RFQ C.1 Scope of Services.

3. Will the MCAs have input on the design on their internship program?

Answer: The final product will be used across multiple MCA’s. MCC will select one to two MCA’s to participate in the development.

4. Will the selected contractor be required to travel to any of the MCAs?

Answer: The following shall replace the current verbiage at:

F.2 PLACE OF PERFORMANCE

“The work will be performed remotely, with regular engagement with MCC staff. The work may require travel to one or two MCAs. All travel must have prior coordination and approval from the COR.”

5. On your website, it states that Interns will support the implementation of MCC projects in areas like clean water, electricity, land rights and education. Are there other project areas not listed on your site that the Interns would help further?

Answer: These are illustrative areas, not comprehensive. That will depend on the scope of the Compact and the venues where the Interns would be most advantageous.

6. What are the anticipated topics of training for the interns?

Answer: The anticipated topics of training for the interns is not required information in order to successfully achieve this endeavor.

MCC-17-RFQ-0017 Amendment 0001 Africa’s Promise Internship Coordination Project 3

7. Do the training and other materials need to be provided in languages other than English?

Answer: Ability to translate documents into French is highly desired, but not required.

8. Should travel to MCC Headquarters be included in the price portion of the proposal?

Answer: No. Meeting with MCC can be conducted via email, phone, Skype, WebEx or other means. The vendor is not required to travel to MCC HQ.

9. Approximately how many interns will need to be trained?

Answer: Since the contractor shall not be training the interns that information is not included in the RFQ.

10. What is the approximate length of the internships? Are they paid or unpaid internships?

Answer: This is not part of the Tasking for this RFQ, thus not required for proposing. Each local MCA will determine the appropriate length of their locally-administered internship program.

11. Will any portion of the contractor’s deliverables be required to be performed on-site in the foreign countries?

Answer: Travel to an MCA maybe required to gather specifics related to Human Resource practices, and program types. However the goal would be to select one of two MCA’s to gather information. The final product shall be used across multiple MCA’s.
