Statement of Work Summary
This is a Statement of Work (SOW) for the Federal Aviation Administration's Weed Control Services contract covering facilities in New Mexico, Texas, Arizona, and Oklahoma. The contractor must furnish all labor, equipment, supplies, and materials for soil sterilization and contact killer chemical applications at FAA-owned or leased properties. The contractor must be licensed and able to provide weed control services across all four specified states. Follow-up services for unsuccessful sterilization applications are included at no additional charge. The work involves identifying and treating designated areas at multiple facilities, with weed control applications scheduled between February and July each year. The contractor must coordinate scheduling annually in January with FAA Points of Contact (POCs) to determine specific weeks and days for treatment at each facility. POCs are responsible for inspecting and accepting services prior to payment.
The SOW specifies that the contractor assumes full responsibility for proper chemical application in accordance with manufacturer recommendations, best practices, EPA standards, and state herbicide control laws for all four states. All contractor employees requiring access to Kirtland Air Force Base (for Albuquerque ATCT) must present a Real ID or US Passport and pass an Air Force background check. The contractor must protect all property from damage, restore any damaged areas at no cost to the government, perform site cleanup in accordance with OSHA requirements, and maintain records per state regulations. The contractor is responsible for coordination with POCs regarding daily weather conditions and may be required to suspend or reschedule work if weather poses a threat to adjacent farms, ranges, and cattle areas. All contractor-furnished equipment and materials require written POC approval before being brought onto FAA installations. The SOW includes detailed facility listings organized by service sector (ATCT, Navigation/Communications, EnRoute) with square footage, coordinates, and scheduling information for sites throughout the contract regions.
