MARKET RESEARCH QUESTIONNAIRE

Building and Facilities Section (B&F) FCI 2 Butner Electrical MVS Switchgear Repair/Replace

The Federal Bureau of Prisons (FBOP) – Facility Department is conducting market research in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation, Part 10. The FBOP anticipates a single solicitation will be issued for Electrical MVS Switchgear Repair/Replace. The FBOP, Federal Correctional Center (FCI 2) Butner located at P.O. Box 1500, Butner, North Carolina 27509 intends to make a single award to a responsible entity that will provide all necessary equipment, labor, materials, and incidentals to complete the Electrical MVS Switchgear Repair/Replace project at FCI 2 Butner.

This market research questionnaire is for information purposes only. The attached statement of work provides detailed information regarding the requirement. The described requirement and statement of work are subject to change.

A summary of the requirements is as follows:

The successful contractor shall provide labor, equipment, parts, materials and supplies to provide the following:

1- Contractor shall repair the medium voltage switchgear located behind the Food Service/Facilities Department.

2- Contractor shall replace the medium voltage switchgear located behind the “O” Housing Unit.

A few notes regarding all FBOP requirements:

1. The resulting solicitation will be distributed solely through the General Services Administration Federal Business Opportunities website at sam.gov. Hard copies of the solicitation are not available. The website provides download instructions to obtain all documents relating to the solicitation. All future information concerning this acquisition, including the pre-solicitation notices, solicitation, and any subsequent amendments, will be distributed solely through the website. Interested parties are responsible for monitoring the website to ensure they have the most current information about the acquisition.

2. Any contractor interested in obtaining a contract award with the Federal Bureau of Prisons must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at www.sam.gov. In order to qualify for award, your business size metrics information entered in your SAM registration must be less than or equal to the size standard specified above. You must also have the NAICS code stated.

Each bidder's SAM registration will be reviewed by the Government to confirm that your business size meets the small business size standard requirement and the stated NAICS code is listed. All bidders are urged to double check their SAM registration and update as necessary, including the size metrics information and NAICS code.
