About this file
This solicitation is for a mechanical fuels reduction project on the Mt. Hood National Forest. The contractor will be required to reduce fuel loading on approximately 2,315 acres through piling slash on 1,330 acres and masticating live vegetation on 985 acres. Piling must be done with a lift and pile mechanism rather than push and pile. Slopes of up to 30 percent must be treated. The contractor must furnish all necessary equipment, fuel, labor, transportation and supplies to complete hand thinning up to 12-inch diameter material on a 20 by 20 foot spacing and cut boles to six-foot lengths. Digital and discernable boundaries will be provided, with sensitive areas marked by flagging. The contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed-price and the contractor must price all base and optional items to be considered. Evaluation criteria include past performance, project management, technical approach and price. The contractor must also submit required forms. Operating restrictions apply to certain units from March 1 to July 15.
