About this file

This is a Request for Information (RFI) issued by the Marine Corps Systems Command (MARCORSYSCOM) to conduct market research on QUADCON Dry Freight ISO Containers for potential lifecycle sustainment procurement. The RFI number is M67854-26-I-5315, posted on 24 February 2026 with a response deadline of 27 March 2026 at 12:00 PM Eastern Time. The government seeks information on commercially available quadcon containers in both 6'10" and 8' heights that can be joined to form 20-foot equivalent unit (TEU) ISO modules for transport and storage of organizational property and consumable supplies. Containers must be compatible with military and commercial transportation assets, including shipboard handling, amphibious ships, and Marine Corps heavy lift cargo aircraft. This RFI does not constitute a commitment to procure and the government will not reimburse vendors for response costs.

The technical specifications require all-steel, monocoque construction (Corten steel preferred) with exterior dimensions of approximately 4'9" x 6'10" x 8'0", a payload capacity of approximately 9,400 pounds, and internal cubic capacity of approximately 217 cubic feet. Containers must meet strict durability and operational standards including indefinite shelf life, fifteen-year in-use service life, operation in temperatures from -25°F to 125°F, four-way forklift handling capability, and compliance with ISO 668, ISO 1496, and CSC certification standards. Required features include corrugated steel sides with swing doors on both sides and roll-up door options, at least two vents, ten vertical E-Track sections with wall tie-down rings rated at 4,000 pounds capacity, and storage brackets for twistlocks. Vendors must submit responses via email to anthony.fennell@usmc.mil including company overview, detailed product data sheets, compliance statements noting any deviations, coupling mechanism descriptions, estimated lead times for orders of 10, 50, and 100+ units, manufacturing capacity information, rough order of magnitude pricing with cost breakdowns, monthly production rates, and optional past performance examples. The classification code is 8150/8145 with NAICS code 332439 for Other Metal Container Manufacturing.

This Request for Information (RFI) initiates market research under Federal Acquisition Regulation 10.002(b)(2)(iii). This is not a Request for Proposals. No final solicitation documents exist currently. This RFI does not constitute a commitment, implied or otherwise, that the Government will take procurement action in this matter. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in furnishing this information.

The intent of this RFI is to gather information on commercially available products that meet or exceed the specifications outlined in this document. This will be used to consolidate the different types of quadcons containers that are currently available and place them under a single contract to allow the

USMC to purchase the various types and quantities as a life-cycle sustainment effort as well as support future systems which require containers of this nature.

System Description:

Product Manager, Engineer Systems (PdM ES), Marine Corps Systems

Command (MARCORSYSCOM) is conducting market research for potential sources to purchase a variety of different types of

QUADCON Dry Freight ISO Containers in both 6'10" and 8' heights.

The Marine Corps requires a family of cargo containers to store and transport organizational property and consumable supplies.

The containers must be compatible with military and commercial transportation assets. The Fleet Marine Force (FMF) will employ containers while deployed and when in garrison. Four of these quadcon containers can be joined together to form a 20 Foot

Equivalent Unit (TEU) ISO module container allowing it to be transported via any standard means as well as separated when at its destination. We are also seeking storage features such as shelving, rails, and cabinets to accommodate internal cargo.

Responses to this RFI will be used to understand market capabilities and may inform potential future solicitation.

We are interested in containers that meet the following technical specifications and features. Please indicate if your product complies with each specification or note any deviations.

General Characteristics:

The family of cargo containers must:

1. Be capable of intermodal transport and compatible with shipboard handling and stowage.

2. Have an indefinite unused shelf life.

3. Have an in-use service life of at least fifteen years.

4. Be lockable, reuseable, and weatherproof.

5. Allow for the installation of bins, shelves, or other inserts to maximize versatility.

11. Be compatible with stowage and cargo handling configurations of both U.S. Navy amphibious ships and commercial ships.

12. Provide for four-way fork-handling; be capable of being handled by Marine Corps material/container handling equipment.

13. Have external dimensions so that any array, in line, conforms to a 20-foot ISO envelope.

14. No special tools shall be required for the installation or removal of the internal racks, shelves, bins, etc.

15. Containers and prime movers must meet US highway legal limits.

16. Containers must meet the Gabarit International de Chargement outline diagram for rail transport.

17. Capable to be transported by Marine Corps heavy lift cargo rotary wing aircraft (including external sling lift), be transportable in Air Force prime mission aircraft, and meet

MIL-STD-1791 for air transport.
