QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

Questions and Answers

• Module 4 states" Situational Training Exercises will be modeled as a culminating event of all training provided."

Does the government want trauma lanes with patient models after completion of Elevated Trauma Procedures?

- Yes, intent is to have a final culminating event in which students demonstrate learned driving skills while providing/moving to patient model care with a focus on prolonged field care.

• Is the government or contractor responsible for student meals and lodging?

- The Government will be responsible for meals and lodging through DTS.

• The Period of Performance is understood to be 8 training days, occurring between the dates of 10-19FEB2025.

17FEB is President's Day, a Federal Holiday. Does the Government want the students to work on that holiday?

- Yes, training audience is expected to work on that holiday

• Can you confirm whether or not the contractor facility needs to be located near Camp Butler in Okinawa, Japan, or if the USMC intends to send their (18) students stateside to receive this training?

- Parent command intends to send student’s stateside for the training, at the Contractor’s facility.

• What level / Tier of TCCC training is sought for this course? Per the Defense health agency, there are 4 tiers of tccc training tier 1 being the lowest tier for non medical personnel, tier 2 for Combat Lifesavers, tier 3 combat medic -corpsman, and tier 4 combat paramedic and providers.

- All participants will be at least at a tier 1 with training to be at tier 2.

• Is there a specific amount of hours dedicated to Prolonged Field Care training as this is similar training to TCCC but there is no standardized PFC training Guidelines to my knowledge, and a PFC course is usually a separate training event and requiring specialized equipment for facilitating the course.

- Based on mission analysis, 8-10 hours would consider PFC. Tracking that this term means a lot of much longer time frames for other individuals. We are looking to train participants on field care in an environment where suitable higher levels of care are several hours away by vehicle.

• Regarding the live tissue training and or cadavers? If using live tissue - pig vs goat? How many would be required?

- For live tissue, pig is the preferred patient model. Ideal allotment would be a 1-2 ratio of student to patient model so 9 models would be required for each iteration of training. If including the culminating event this would require 18 total.
