About this file
This document is an amendment to a solicitation for propane services on Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center bases in Twentynine Palms, California. It extends the response deadline from July 31, 2023 to August 14, 2023 at 1:00 PM and allows a site visit on August 9, 2023 at Building 1130. The United States Marine Corps seeks to refuel nineteen propane tanks of varying sizes, primarily 500-1000 gallons for building heating from November to April, with emergency fills of larger 60,000 gallon tanks if needed. The incumbent supplier and local vendors previously provided fuel to multiple facilities. All government-owned tanks are located across the main side area and Camp Wilson of the bases.

Q&A
1. Can you confirm that this is only for refueling purposes and that the total number of tanks to be refilled is 19?
Yes, for refueling only. The large tanks in 1991 is only emergency filling and will not normally be filled since they are so large. Normally winter usage from November to late April. Most tanks are used for building heating. During cold months tanks may be filled two or three times monthly depending on outside temperature.
2. Additionally, could you please provide information on how often the tanks will need to be reused and what they will be used for? Not sure the reference here. Tanks are in place and will be refilled. Tanks being emptied will remain empty and removed by the Govt later.
3. Can you please clarify which tanks will need to be fueled? With an estimated annual usage of 14,500, the multiple tanks of 60,000 makes it seem like we may not be refilling those tanks. Regular fills on all 500- and 1000-gallon tanks. Mostly in winter as these are mostly used for building heating. The 60,000-gallon tanks will only be fuel in an emergency. Normally a separate purchase contract for multiple loads of propane will be procured.
4. Are all the tanks currently government owned, or will we need to supply any tanks? All tanks are Govt owned.
5. Who is the incumbent supplier? 60,000-gallon tanks were filled with a separate contract. Local vendors supplied fuel prior.
6. I'm trying to answer the questions for the subcontractors, and they are wondering what the complete address to is where the propane needs to be delivered to. MCAGCC 29 palms. Multiple facilities on base within Main side area and Camp Wilson. All sites listed on the order form.
7. Can we perform a site visit? Yes, we can support this. I will have someone available to go to all tanks. My section will also go with the driver if needed to.
