Q & A:

1) Is this open to firms outside of California?

A: Yes this solicitation is open to firms outside of California. 100% small business set aside.

2) The description mentions that the footage is "edited" does that mean the titles and tags will not need to be added by the contractor?

A: The contractor will not be responsible for adding titles and tags in the video.

3) Will the contracting office provide the contractor with access to the government SharePoint site for uploading of the final video?

A: The Contractor will be provided access to come on base and to access our SharePoint for the uploading of podcast material.

4) What is the desired length of each final podcast?

A: As of now, the desired videos will be edited to around the 1 hour mark.

5) In what form will the video be provided to the contractor? DVDs Hard Drive, online download?

A: The contractor will be in communication with our Combat Camera organization to ensure all video formats are in compliance with what the contractor is able to do to complete the contractors job for creating a professional podcast. Our Combat Camera team is able to edit all videos to most video compression standards.

6) Can the video be mailed to the contractor or does it have to be pick up in person?

A: It is best to have at least one person from the Contractor to be able to work with our units, but we are prepared to mail out video edits at the contractors request.

7) Does the video have to be edited on site? or can it be edited at the contractors facility?

A: There is no preference on where the contractor will do the podcasting edits. The contractor can use its own facility to perform editing duties. Uploading to the SharePoint can only be done from Government facilities.

8) What is meant by "make it interactive with the web"? Is this something other than the video playing? Do special links need to added etc.?

A: The Government prefers there to be special links and video playback to be organized and aligned. The Governments intentions are to have these teaching modules as user friendly as possible for teaching purposes.

9)Will all the video (up to 50 hours) be provided at once for it to edited and uploaded? or will it be provided over a particular period of time (monthly, every couple of weeks)?
A:This project will take a year to complete. You will be handed video footage after each class is filmed and edited.
10)Do you have a website that these podcasts will live or does that need to be created, too? Or if we host the podcasts and provided you a link for the podcasts that could be shared, would that a better solution?
A: The “Contractor” will be given access to our Government Sharepoint. From there the contractor is responsible for uploading the final content on there and ensuring that the final content works well with the web.
