Lead & Asbestos Collection Samples & Testing M6700121Q1036 The Government’s Response to Questions Received
Question 1: Would it be acceptable if we used a handheld XRF instrument to test the surfaces for lead-based paint instead of collecting paint chip samples?
Government’s Response: Handheld XRF instruments that are in compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws and environmental requirements are acceptable to test the surfaces for lead-based paint.
Question 2: Will we need to rent a scissor lift to access elevated surfaces?
Government’s Response: In accordance with Section 3.0 of the Performance Work Statement, the Contractor shall provide all supervision, labor, materials, equipment, tools, freight, and transportation required to collect and test lead/asbestos samples. The height of the area is approximately 25 feet from the floor to the ceiling.
Question 3: Do you have any floor plans/diagrams that indicates the size/square footage of the machine shop? Do you have any pictures?
Government’s Response: A floor plan/diagram will be provided upon award to the awardee upon request. There are no pictures to provide.

Question 4: Are you anticipating a certain number of samples to be taken?
Government’s Response: The anticipated number of samples to be taken are in accordance with the CLINs listed in the Solicitation and Sections 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 of the Performance Work Statement within the Solicitation.
Question 5: Is Document H-101 FRCE Cherry Point, NC Drawing Number PE-21841 available for download? If not, could you provide an approximate square footage of the area to be evaluated for the lead/asbestos testing?

Question 6: Can you tell us the size of the building that is the subject of the survey – square feet, numbers of floors, etc.?
