SOLICITATION #M67001-15-T-1095

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

The following are questions that have been presented by interested vendors concerning the UPS Replacement Batteries solicitation:

· I was wondering why only Liebert certified technicians can do a battery replacement? Liebert does not make batteries, they make the UPS. The HX-505 specified is made by EnerSys. We are a small business Platinum reseller for EnerSys and we do full cabinet replacements at many different military bases and US Government facilities. Replacing the batteries in a cabinet or rack in an UPS system is the same as replacing the battery on a car. It shouldn’t matter who does it as long it is the same type, and it shouldn’t void the warranty on the UPS. I was just wondering why your locked in to only Liebert techs doing this.

Answer: Liebert will only warrant parts and labor that is Liebert trained and certified, if we use non approved batteries or non-trained technicians it would void our 24x7x365 warranty.

· Why would this SOL be restricted to “Liebert Certified Technicians”?

Liebert technicians are certified specifically for the UPS and not the battery installation, in most cases they contract out the installation to a third party. So, the SOL should request that a certified Liebert technician be on site to operate the UPS and allow experienced “Battery Technicians” provide the work they are best at.

Answer: Liebert will only warrant parts and labor that is Liebert trained and certified, if we use non approved batteries or non-trained technicians it would void our 24x7x365 warranty.

· Will you accept items equal to manufacturers?

Answer: No we do not want to risk our warranty and guarantee service level agreements; that have been established with Liebert.
