Statement of Work for Transmission Rebuild
1. Background The Marine Corps Mountain Warfare Training Center (MCMWTC) Bridgeport, CA maintains a fleet of 89 Hagglunds BV-206 All-Terrain Vehicles which are necessary to conduct training operations. Repair parts for the BV-206 are not available through the Marine Corps supply system, therefore, all repair parts and services must be acquired via commercial contractors.
2. Objectives The objective of this contract effort is to rebuild nine (9) Mercedes Benz 722.391 transmissions which are used by the BV-206 in order to maintain a high state of readiness.
3. Scope Under the Scope of this contract, the contractor shall be responsible for providing the parts and labor necessary to rebuild nine (9) Mercedes Benz 722.391 transmissions. The contractor shall only be responsible for the tasks identified in paragraph 4.1 of this Statement of Work (SOW). The scope of this contract does not include delivery or installation of the transmissions.
4. Tasks
4.1. Tasks to be performed by Contractor:
4.1.a. Provide the parts identified in paragraph 4.2 of this SOW and ensure that they are free of defects.
4.1.b. Complete disassembly and cleaning of all transmission components inclusive of control valvebody and governor assembly.
4.1.c. Examination of all mechanical parts and casings.
4.1.d. Reassembly of all transmission components, using the parts identified in paragraph 4.2 of this SOW.
4.1.e. Contact a Government representative to schedule pickup of the transmissions once the labor is complete.
4.1.f. Inspect each transmission, along with the Government representative, on the scheduled pickup date to ensure that all tasks were performed and that rebuilt transmission is fully operational.
4.2. The following replacement parts must be provided by the contractor and used in the reassembly process. All parts must be brand new and free of defects. Part numbers are provided in parenthesis for easy reference:
4.2.a. Master Overhaul Kit (68006B)
4.2.b. Front Band Semi Flex (N68022B)
4.2.c. Rear Band Split (R68026B)
4.2.d. Filter (A68010A)
4.2.e. Vacuum Box a.ka. Modulator (680160AC)
4.3. Contractor shall contact the Contracting Officer in the event that additional work outside of the Scope of this contract needs to be performed (i.e. additional repairs).
4.4. Tasks to be performed by Government representative:
4.4.a. Schedule delivery of transmissions to Contractor’s location.
4.4.b. Deliver transmissions on scheduled date.
4.4.c. Inspect each rebuilt transmission, along with Contractor, on scheduled pickup date to ensure that all tasks were performed and that rebuilt transmission is fully operational.
5. Place of Performance
Performance of this contract will be at Contractor’s location. Contractor’s address will be identified at time of contract award.
6. Period of Performance
The Period of Performance shall not exceed 60 days from the date the transmissions are delivered to the Contractor’s location.
