About this file

This Performance Work Statement (PWS) details a contract for mortuary affairs training support for the Marine Corps Personnel Retrieval and Processing (PRP) Company during Northern Strike-25.2 at Camp Grayling, Michigan. The primary objective is to provide specialized training using cadavers to enhance realistic casualty handling and processing scenarios for Marines, addressing limitations in current military training methods. Key support requirements include providing cadavers for training, transportation of cadavers to multiple training sites, supporting scenario-based injuries and amputations, enabling embalming and autopsy training, and properly disposing of cadavers and bio-hazard materials.

The contract specifies a nine-day performance period from August 5-13, 2025, with contractors responsible for providing technical expertise, handling cadavers, and supporting various training operations including search and recovery, end of life care, joint unit recovery team training, and mortuary affairs collection point operations. Contractors must have expertise in cadaver transportation, processing, and handling, and must comply with the Revised Uniform Anatomical Gift Act. The training will involve multiple scenarios across different locations at Camp Grayling, including the Home Station Training Lane (HSTL), Cantonment, and Grayling Army Airfield, with cadavers used in various states (intact and with simulated injuries/amputations) to provide comprehensive realistic training for Marines.
