About this file
This document is a detailed technical specification sheet for the SnapTRACK® 10 Locator, a mission-critical utility locating system used by the U.S. Marine Corps Quantico G-6 Infrastructure Support Branch. The system consists of a receiver and transmitter designed to detect and trace underground infrastructure such as buried cables, pipelines, and line faults with high precision, supporting base maintenance, field engineering, and site preparation operations.
The receiver features multiple operating frequencies (ranging from 131 kHz to 512 Hz), various antenna modes, a backlit LCD display, and can measure depth from 1 inch to 30 feet with over 5% accuracy. The 10-watt transmitter offers 10 selectable power settings, operates in temperatures from -4°F to +133°F, and is IP65 rated for dust and water resistance. Both components can be powered by rechargeable or standard batteries, with battery life ranging from 8-30 hours of continuous use. The system comes with a 48-month limited warranty and is manufactured in the United States, making it a robust solution for military and public works utility location needs.

Snap Track 10 Locaters – Salient Characteristics
The SnapTRACK® 10 Locator is a mission-critical utility locating system employed by the U.S. Marine Corps Quantico G-6 Infrastructure Support Branch to identify and trace underground infrastructure with precision.
Designed to detect buried cables, pipelines, and line faults, it supports essential operations such as base maintenance, field engineering, and rapid deployment site preparation. The 10-watt transmitter variant enables high-powered signal transmission, making it especially effective in challenging environments where depth, interference, or terrain complexity demand robust locating capabilities. Its reliability and versatility make it a valuable asset for military engineers and public works personnel tasked with safeguarding and managing subterranean utilities across installations worldwide.
