U.S. Marine Corps Recruiting Command VoIP Equipment
Sources Sought Questions and Government Responses
Ref. No. M00263-20-Q-1001
Q1: From the MCRC VoIP Equipment List, I searched the DISA APLITS website at aplits.disa.mil/processAPList for the listed equipment so I can be in compliance. Not all the equipment from your list is on the approved list. Is there a more updated list I should be looking at? Can I get a waiver from this requirement so I can supply the hardware you need?
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE:
Eaton is the only equipment not on APL but these are Battery Backup UPS Systems and not IT equipment.
The CISCO 2960, Polycom VVX , Ribbon SBC, FORTINET/FORTIGATE items are APL/JITC. As an Authorized Manufacturer reseller of IT or VoIP equipment, your Manufacturer/s Representative should be able to provide you with their individual APL listed(or APL Scheduled Test dates) for their VoIP related products.
Equipment list:
1. Cisco WS-C2960X - APL CISCO 2960
2. Ribbon/Sonus SBC1000 - APL RIBBON SBC 5x10 {1Ks (STIG’d & scanned) are deployed behind 5110’s in our network and leverage the 5110 security boundary/management/APL}
3. Fortinet/Fortigate Listed - APL Fortigate Suite
4. Polycom, telephones - APL MS Skype for Business and RIBBON SBC
5. Eaton Corporation - Not APL Listed: ANY Battery Backup UPS will work as long as will hold for minimum of 20 minutes to allow proper device shutdown during power outages.
Q2: Is it possible to get a copy of the DISA Approved Product List (APL) for VoIP?
GOVERNMENT RESPONSE: https://aplits.disa.mil/processAPList.action
APL is a test Lab for IT Equipment as a whole for DOD networks so there is no specific VoIP equipment list on
APL.
APL does list UC (Unified Communications), Soft Switch and many “components” found in IT and/or VoIP networks and can be found on the APL Device list. As an Authorized Manufacturer reseller of IT or VoIP equipment, your Manufacturer/s Representative can supply you with their individual APL listed products and/or APL Scheduled Test dates.
