Section C - Descriptions and Specifications
BENEFIT TAG SET
1. BACKGROUND
The Marine Corps Recruiting Command (MCRC) has a requirement for Benefit Tags to be used by recruiters in the Marine Corps at their recruiting stations on potential applicants. These tags have the Marine Corps core values engraved and the applicants are asked what three things from those tags they wish to get out of the Marine Corps. These tags are used as an effective interactive recruiting tool. Benefit tags are given to each student while they are at the schoolhouse and they are used for training and exams and are taken with the students when they graduate.
2. TAG SET – REQUIREMENT DEFINITION
One set of tags consist of eleven (11) multicolored plastic tags with dimensions of 3” length X 1.5” height X .0625” thick, squared corners and a hole in the top right corner with a small ball chain to keep them together. The tags are to bevel around the edges halfway through the tag and then straight the rest of the tag. This improves the aesthetics of the tags but still allows it to be picked up off a table surface easily.
The engraved lettering will be capitalized text, ¼” in Arial font;
Tag 1 is a red tag with white lettering: Pride of Belonging Tag 2 is a black tag with white lettering: Professional Development and Opportunities Tag 3 is a blue tag with white lettering: Physical Fitness Tag 4 is a green tag with white lettering: Leadership and Management Skills Tag 5 is a grey tag with black lettering: Challenge Tag 6 is a wood print tag with white lettering: Financial Security Advancement and Benefits Tag 7 is a black tag with white lettering: Technical Skills Tag 8 is a yellow tag with black lettering: Travel and Adventure Tag 9 is a blue tag with white lettering: Self Reliance, Self-Direction, and Self Discipline Tag 10 is a brown tag with white lettering: Educational Opportunity Tag 11 is a green tag with white lettering: Courage, Poise and Self Confidence
3. Delivery
Standard lead time after receipt of order shall be one (1) month.

Automatic identification device means a device, such as a reader or interrogator, used to retrieve data encoded on machine-readable media.
Concatenated unique item identifier means--
(1) For items that are serialized within the enterprise identifier, the linking together of the unique identifier data elements in order of the issuing agency code, enterprise identifier, and unique serial number within the enterprise identifier; or
(2) For items that are serialized within the original part, lot, or batch number, the linking together of the unique identifier data elements in order of the issuing agency code; enterprise identifier; original part, lot, or batch number; and serial number within the original part, lot, or batch number.
Data Matrix means a two-dimensional matrix symbology, which is made up of square or, in some cases, round modules arranged within a perimeter finder pattern and uses the Error Checking and Correction 200 (ECC200) specification found within International Standards Organization (ISO)/International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) 16022.
Data qualifier means a specified character (or string of characters) that immediately precedes a data field that defines the general category or intended use of the data that follows.
