About this file

This document is a detailed specification for a Landing Zone Safety Officer (LOM) simulator system for Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) at Ramstein Air Base. The system requires AFSOC certification and must seamlessly integrate with existing Wing Flying Hour Programs, featuring flexible hardware configurations including small and large multitouch displays with motorized stands. Key system components include a controller position with a headset, a supervisor/pilot position with three screens, three visual databases, a network switch, user documentation, and five years of software/hardware support.

The system specifications emphasize specialized training capabilities, including dedicated displays for radio communications, weather information, and ground/air surveillance, along with virtual classroom and collaborative exercise planning software. The simulator must integrate with and simulate tactical airfield and communication equipment used in real-world operations. Optional items include a chair and desk for the supervisor position and a mobile simulator. The system will also provide customized training scenarios specific to Ramstein AB's requirements, with on-site operational and technical training sessions included in the package.
