List of Salient Characteristics

1. Background:

The CCDC Soldier Center Disruptive Material and Fibers Team requires a tactical medium-wave infrared (MWIR) camera to support ongoing and future material development efforts for signature management (camouflage and multifunctional materials). The Recon V will provide Measurement and Signatures Intelligence, allowing detection, identifying, and describing the signature of fixed or dynamic target sources in the mid-wave infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. The Recon V operates in the 3.4 to 5.1 microns waveband, has a detection distance of 30 km, is compact, light and designed for 24/7 day and night field operations. Through 10x continuous zoom optics, MEMS-based electronic stabilization and high-definition color video display combine to provide high-definition image quality for analysis.
