About this file
This is a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition (CUI) form for a non-competitive acquisition by the Defense Logistics Agency.
The Defense Logistics Agency is acquiring a Robotic Blast Booth for Automated Coating Removal (Mechanical) with part number 3426-N30000416, quantity 1. The booth will be equipped with a Fanuc R-30iB Robot and controller, along with turnkey services including installation, shipping, training, technical data, rigging, and post-processor IUID tagging. The robotic blast booth will process aircraft flight controls and commodities for the KC-135, E-3, B-1, and B-52 weapons systems by removing paint and primer coatings to facilitate inspection and repair. The estimated contract value is redacted. The solicitation will be synopsized on or about July 1, 2025, and any firm requesting a solicitation copy will be provided one.
The acquisition is restricted to a single source, FANUC AMERICA CORPORATION (CAGE 1LA91), based on the company's known capability to furnish the required supplies and services. The justification cites 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) authority, supported by technical certification and cost analysis. The market survey was conducted, and interested firms including RP Gatta Inc., Titan Robotics, Makhale Engineering Services, and Midvale Industries were identified but not selected. The Contracting Officer approved the acquisition for $750,000 or less, while the Competition Advocate approved it for the contract value not exceeding $15 million.
