Request: 129AC720R0002, Amendment 0001
Questions and Answers as 4/28/2020
1. Is there a place to make riprap on site or does it have to be trucked in?
All the riprap hast to be hauled in.
2. Is there fabric under the riprap?
There is no fabric under the rip rap. One typical drawing shows fabric under the rolling dips, this should be ignored.
3. What type of seeding and fertilizer should be used?
There will be no Fertilizer used in this project, because it is in the Wilderness. Seed will be provided by the Forest Service and spread by the contractor, Forest Service will make sure rate of spread and correct coverage are met. Only the draws where culverts are removed should be seeded. Weed Free Rice straw to be used as mulch for all the disturbed areas of the project.
4. How often are the resting pads supposed to be constructed?
The resting pad will only be constructed between the main road and the landing pad where the sign in box will be located, and the distance, and number of pads will depend on the slope of the finished grade.
A table is provided to determine the distance between them based on slope. There will most likely only going to be one resting pad in the whole project. They are not supposed to be built throughout the whole extent of the project.
5. How is compaction supposed to be accomplished on a 30 inch wide tread?
It could be accomplished either by excavator bucket compaction, or by a vibrator plate.
6. How many tons of straw per acre?
There shall be 2 tons of weed free rice straw per acre.
