About this file

This document is a Lawncare Checklist from the Department of Defense, Veterans and Emergency Management - Military Bureau for evaluating lawn maintenance service performance. The checklist outlines comprehensive evaluation criteria for lawn care services across multiple military facilities, including detailed specifications for mowing, trimming, edging, and maintenance of various landscape types such as general lawns, filter beds, bio-retention cells, and retention ponds. The evaluation process involves monthly performance tours, with contractors required to meet specific standards including grass height (3.5-5 inches), debris removal, and proper equipment usage.

The document establishes strict performance standards with potential contract consequences for poor performance, including a two-week period to correct identified issues and potential contract termination after three poor evaluations. Contractors must maintain specific environmental requirements for different landscape types, with variations in cutting heights for specialized areas like pollination beds and filter beds. Work is to be performed during normal department working hours (7:30 am to 4:00 pm), excluding state and federal holidays, with all personnel required to be vetted and responsive to communications within one business day. The evaluation process includes a detailed checklist with yes/no and rating options, allowing for comprehensive assessment of lawn care service quality across multiple military facilities.
