Requirements
Project must be completed before June 15th, 2026
Background: Mt. Hood Community College operates a long-standing Head Start program in the community and leases a space from the Parkrose School District in the Knott Creek Elementary School.
Scope: Our program requires the need to regularly launder clothing, bedding and other fabric material essential to program functions and thus provide acceptable levels of sanitation. Currently the Knott Center does not have access to a laundry station onsite and is looking to modify an existing space to accommodate this necessary function.
Objective: We are looking to convert a single stall water closet to a laundry station by Removing existing toilette, route electrical service from nearby electrical panel, route water connections from nearby hot and cold-water services, expose hole in exterior wall for dryer exhaust vent, plumb in drain system utilizing newly abandoned toilette drain. We want to source a residential style stackable washer and dryer to fit the space with the ability to maintain serviceability and retain equipment warranty. Conversion design may require elevated footing for machines but not to modify the machines.
Contractor to observe all code requirements and procure all necessary permits to perform the work and complete the job. Any hazardous material testing and sequestering to be performed by contractor in accordance with all state, local and federal regulations.
Insurance Requirements:
• The Contractor shall maintain commercial general liability in an amount not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence to protect against liability for bodily injury and property damage, which may arise out of the Contractor’s operations under this project. Such insurance shall include coverage for products-completed operations liability, independent contractors, contractual liability (including the tort liability of another assumed under a business contract), and all other standard coverage provided by a commercial general liability policy.
• The Contractor shall maintain automobile liability insurance in an amount not less than $1,000,000 per occurrence to protect against liability arising from the use, loading, and
• unloading of all of the Contractor’s owned, hired, and non-owned automobiles in connection with this project.
• The Contractor shall maintain workers’ compensation coverage for all subject workers as required by law, including employer’s liability.
