About this file
This document is a Request for Information (RFI) for a Handheld Cleaning Laser Depaint Ablation System issued by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Air Force Sustainment Center. The government seeks to identify potential sources capable of providing two handheld laser systems with specific technical requirements, including pulse durations of 70-135 ns, optic scan frequencies of 50-130 Hz, and a wavelength of 1064 nm. The system must be non-damaging to steel and aluminum surfaces, have a flat-top beam profile, and include a TEKA fume extractor unit.
Interested contractors must submit a detailed capability survey by close of business on 25 April 2025, addressing general capabilities, commerciality, and manufacturing questions. The RFI is open to both large and small businesses, with no set-aside decision made yet. Respondents must provide comprehensive information about their facility, past experience, technical data generation capabilities, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance practices. The government emphasizes that participation in this market research does not guarantee future solicitation or contract awards, and will not reimburse participants for survey-related expenses.
